CSA week 16

The return of roots, as autumn arrives.

Hi Friends.

My apologies for missing my emails the past week. My computer hard drive crashed amidst the business of summer harvesting. I am excited to return roots to our share this week as these cool autumn nights help them mature. While we have been in a severe drought all season our fields and cultivation practices have allowed for many crops such as potatoes and winter squash to yield even with almost no rain. These products may not be as abundant as normal but the quality is improved through their thirst. I hope you enjoy!

Rainbow kale
Scallions
Mountain rose potatoes
Butternut squash(take one)
French breakfast radish
Baby greens
Beets
Fairytale Eggplant

The winter squash is truly exquisite sliced in half lengthwise, seeds scooped out, and roasted cut-side down on an oiled pan at 350.  I love it with simply butter, salt and pepper! Enjoy!
