We are looking for one or two people to help out for the 2014 season, approximately May-October. This will be a paid apprenticeship with wages/stipend dependent upon experience and circumstances.
Duties will include all aspects of running a small-scale vegetable farm using organic (and many biodynamic) practices. You will work alongside the head farmer and perform all tasks, from planting to harvesting to distribution. We have a walk-behind tractor, but most of our work is done with hand tools. A willingness and enthusiasm for difficult physical labor in all kinds of weather is required. Previous farm experience is preferred but not essential.
There will be plenty of learning-by-doing, as well as opportunities for more formal instruction. Independent projects in areas of personal interest are also encouraged. Farm worker(s) will have their pick of fresh vegetables all season as well as free attendance at yoga and dinner events held on the farm throughout the season. Housing on the farm is possible for the right candidate.
